The SOSA Discipline Committee conducts all disciplinary matters in accordance
with the OSA Policies and Procedures.
In accordance with OSA Policy, we delegate to its leagues all first level
disciplinary matters (i.e. assessment of penalties for yellow and red card
infractions and other league matters).
However, certain issues can not be delegated and thus remain under the
jurisdiction of the committee:
- disciplinary matters pertaining to registration;
- any offence directed at a game official (including Game Official Assaults);
- any misconduct by a game official.
It is the duty of the league in which the misconduct occurred to report such
misconducts to the committee.
Disciplinary action shall only be taken in accordance with one of the following
two types of discipline systems:
Discipline By Review (D.B.R.) System in which there is no discipline hearing unless the
accused requests a hearing prior to the date of the next Discipline By Review meeting. Decisions rendered under the D.B.R. system may not be appealed.
Discipline By Hearing (D.B.H.) System in which it is mandatory to conduct a discipline hearing in accordance with published OSA rules. Any decision rendered under the
D.B.H. system may be appealed to the next-higher governing authority.
